My pregnant wife 3

™ MY PREGNANT WIFE (EPISODE 3) “Excuse me?” , said the female officer “Please help me with your phone. Let me inform my lawyer that I’m here” “It’s like you don’t have eyes. Can’t you see it is already late?” “What will your lawyer be doing here at this time of the night” “You should be thanking your God that you’re still here” “Don’t you know you should be cooling your feet in the cell by now?” “You are lucky you are yet to write your statement” “So you better keep quiet and sit down there” “Nonsense” At that point, my arrest did not pain me anymore But those words from that beautiful she-devil was killing me slowly Moments ago, she was smiling at me What triggered her to speak in that manner? I was still starring at her when suddenly she and other officers stood up and threw a salute I turned to look at who they saluted Behold it was the middle aged man who had ordered my arrest at the hospital He moved straight to an office Three officers followed him I started thinking of what will...

My pregnant wife 2

My Pregnant wife     Episode 2 ℠ “You are under arrest”, said one of the Police Officers “For what?” I protested “You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a law court. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you” I have never heard a Nigerian Police Officer recite those words to that point. “What is my offense?” No one answered me One of the officers brought out his handcuff I turned to the middle aged man and asked with all amount of humility: “Sir, what have I done?” “If I were you, I would keep quiet and save my strength for what is to come” At that point, they had my hands cuffed I let loose my voice “What is to come, Sir?” “Who are you and what have I done?” I was still shouting like a parrot who has eaten too much pepper as I was led away My voice alerted many people as they rushed to see what happened I told myself that I would not be taken without a fight So I started...

My pregnant wife 1

My pregnant wife    ®It is a Monday evening. My seven months pregnant wife has just returned from work. She is tired from the demanding tasks of her Boss. I advised her to resign from that job and pick up a government appointment. But she would do no such thing. After taking a little rest, she entered the kitchen to find something for the baby. That was her first pregnancy. I have been the one running up and down for her. What do I even know about pregnancies? She was very hungry and so was I. We barely started cooking when our gas cylinder ran out of gas. You know how pregnant women behave. “So you did not refill this cylinder, Ezekiel?” she asked with so much anger I was shocked and afraid “I did not know it was remaining small”, I answered. “So you mean you have not been checking this gauge?” she asked pointing at the gauge on the cylinder At this point her eyes were reddish “Ezekiel I don’t like the way you are stressing me in this house” “But it was not like this from the...

unhealed finale

CHAPTER 32 ( FINAL CHAPTER) "UNHEALED" © Opeyemi Akintunde As Inspired by the Living WORD Harmony sat beside Evelyn, his face an artwork of sobriety and introspection. Evelyn reached over, holding his hands firmly in hers, her eyes closed as she prayed quietly, her voice carrying a steady strength. Harmony closed his own eyes... "Lord, please have Mercy on me, Lord give Tomike the heart to move on in Jesus name." *** In the stillness of their living room, Ade sat on the floor his headbowed in prayer. His hands rested on his knees. He was praying for Tomike, he heard Harmony entering the compound earlier and just some minutes ago, Mrs Evelyn entered as well. He wondered why she wasn’t back yet. A message notification popped on his phone. Helooked at it expecting it to be Tomike. Instant dissappointment showed on his face, when he saw that it was message from Judith. “Ade, it’s been 15 years hoping that someday, you will be mine. I have been hanging on the thread of a...

CHAPTER 31 "UNHEALED" © Opeyemi Akintunde   As Inspired by the Living WORD Tomike sat, her shoulders slumped, her face streaked with tears.  She looked at Evelyn with  brokenness in her eyes.  “So… how did you get out?” she whispered, her voice breaking. “Because I feel the same way. Broken, cheated, unwanted…” Evelyn’s eyes softened as she reached over, holding Tomike’s hand with warmth and compassion.  “Tomike, Jesus found me,” she said gently. “I accepted Him, and He healed me. When He said, ‘Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest,’ I believed His words. And it worked for me. I found rest.” Tomike’s tears fell harder as she shook her head, her voice trembling. “It’s not that easy, Evelyn. I loved him so much…” Evelyn squeezed her hand, her voice steady and filled with empathy. “ But you have to Love yourself now. The best show of Love is to Love yourself, then you love your neighbour. How do you love yourself now? You...

CHAPTER 30 "UNHEALED" © Opeyemi Akintunde   As Inspired by the Living WORD After Harmony’s departure, Tomike had remained seated in the restaurant, her body shook as she struggled to contain her emotions. But the pain was too much to hold in. She stumbled to her feet, blindly making her way to her car, her vision blurred by tears. She entered the vehicle. She felt as though her very soul had been torn apart, piece by piece. As she pulled out of the parking lot, still crying profusely, a second car followed her from a distance. Inside, Evelyn quietly fastened her seatbelt and started her engine, trailing after Tomike’s car out of the restaurant compound, watching over her in silence. Meanwhile, back in Ade’s bedroom, he paced around in the room, his heart heavy and his eyes filled with unshed tears. He laid on the bed pouring out his soul in prayer for his wife. “Dear Lord, creator of all mankind,” he whispered, his voice breaking, “You hold the heart of kings in Your hands, a...

CHAPTER 29 "UNHEALED" © Opeyemi Akintunde   As Inspired by the Living WORD Tomike walked into the softly lit restaurant, her heart racing with a strange mixture of excitement and dread. Dinner with Ade wasn't something to look forward to, but she had a weird feeling about it. She was scared Ade would tell her he was done. She looked around and she noticed a private corner decorated with flowers and she read a flowery inscription...I AM SORRY... "Ade is too much of an Angel" Tomike thought  She walked in further expecting to see Ade waiting for her, but her steps faltered as she saw Harmony sitting at the table, watching her approach. Her heart fluttered, and a mix of confusion and old pain plagued her heart. Memories of their school dates came rushing back. Harmony rose as she neared, his expression gentle, but tinged with sorrow. “Tomike…” The sound of his voice brought a fresh ache to her heart. She looked around, panic and vulnerability clear in her eyes. “Ha...

CHAPTER 28 "UNHEALED" © Opeyemi Akintunde   As Inspired by the Living WORD The morning sunlight filtered gently through the bedroom curtains into the room as Ade quietly finished getting dressed for work. He glanced over at Tomike, who lay curled up on the bed, her breathing soft and steady. A pang of worry flashed across his face as he remembered the past few days, but he pushed it aside, focusing instead on what he hoped would be a turning point. He moved closer, reaching out to tap her shoulder lightly. She stirred, slowly opening her eyes. “Good morning, babe,” he whispered with a gentle smile. Tomike blinked, her voice soft and weary. “Good morning.” Ade crouched down beside her, his expression warm. “Are you awake?” She nodded, propping herself up slightly. “Yes.” With a hopeful smile tugging at the corners of his lips, he continued, “I made reservations for us at our favorite spot.” He had a talk with Harmony some days back... the conversation was not a very pleasant o...

CHAPTER 27 "UNHEALED" © Opeyemi Akintunde   As Inspired by the Living WORD Ade pulled into the compound slowly, the exhaustion of the day very obvious on him. As he switched off the engine and leaned back in his seat, he noticed Harmony rushing towards him from his side of the house. “Mr. Ade! Mr. Ade!” Harmony called out, waving his hand. Ade turned toward him, his face tired and expression unreadable. “Yes?” Harmony approached cautiously, trying to read Ade’s mood. “Can we talk?” he asked, his voice careful, almost hesitant. Ade stared at him for a moment, the cloud of his own personal struggles mixing with the curiosity of why Harmony wanted to speak was overwhelming. He sighed deeply, then nodded. “Alright.” ***** Evelyn sat in her mother-in-law’s living room, her fingers intertwined in her lap, her eyes focused on the older woman before her.  She had come for answers... “Evelyn, I am not a bad person. I didn’t put them asunder just like that.” Harmony's mother said E...

CHAPTER 26 "UNHEALED" © Opeyemi Akintunde   As Inspired by the Living WORD The silence in the room was thick with tension, broken only by his quiet, continuous desperate plea.  “Babe, I’m sorry. That’s all I can say..please forgive me. I got all wrapped up in this situation because I didn’t want to hurt her again.” Evelyn stood her body trembling as she struggled to keep her composure. The tears flowing and unstoppable. She wiped at her face, but the tears kept coming. She was fight a war within; the war between being a forgiving wife or a betrayed one. “I understand that you were trying to fix something from your past by trying to help her heal, but healing won’t come by reopening old wounds,” she said, her voice cracking with emotion. Harmony looked up, the regret on his face almost unbearable for her to see. “Evelyn, I promise, I didn’t intend to hurt you in any way.” She sniffed, tears streaming freely down her face now, no longer holding back the pain that had been s...

CHAPTER 25 "UNHEALED" © Opeyemi Akintunde   As Inspired by the Living WORD “So, you broke things off with her?” she asked, her voice heavy with disbelief. Harmony looked down, avoiding her gaze. “Not exactly,” he admitted. “I just… never saw her again.” Aviela shook her head in frustration. “Ha! Daddy…” “Look,” Harmony began defensively, “Grandma was supposed to handle it. She said she would do all the talking.” Aviela raised an eyebrow, her skepticism clear. “Well, it seems like Grandma did more harm than good. And now, the past is haunting your present. This is going to hurt Mom, and it’s going to hurt Oliver.” Harmony rubbed the back of his neck, his mind racing. “But… I’m just friends with her, Aviela. That’s all.” Aviela crossed her arms, her gaze unwavering. “Daddy, you always taught me not to sniff around food if I wasn’t going to eat it. You gave me the courage to face Francis and tell him that I wasn’t ready for what he was offering at thirteen.” Harmony’s eyes softe...

It was the place where everyone came if they wanted some quiet. He was staring intently at the ring in his hand. It wasn’t much, but it was symbolic. A promise, a declaration of his love for Tomike. The past four years with her had been some of the best of his life, and that night, he was going to ask her to marry him...not with the intention of rushing into marriage, but to assure her that no matter what the future held, he wanted her by his side forever. As he stared at the ring, rehearsing his proposal, a hand tapped him on the shoulder scaring the hell out of him.  Startled, Harmony jumped to his feet, His younger brother, Liam, stood watching him with amused curiosity.  “You go close your eyes like that when you propose?” Liam asked  “Liam! How many times do I have to tell you to stop sneaking up on me...

His voice was gentle as he called Aviela into the room. “Come in.” She entered, her eyes downcast. “Welcome home, Daddy,” she greeted him softly. Harmony smiled, though tiredness clung to his face. “Thank you, Aviela. How are you doing?” Her reply came almost immediately, and the seriousness of her words made him sit up. “Not fine, Daddy. Someone hurt me.” Harmony’s heart skipped a beat. His protective instincts kicked in as he leaned forward. “Someone did what? Who is that person? Is it someone from your school?” Aviela shook her head slowly, her gaze not meeting his. “No, Daddy. It’s someone from here. From our house.” Harmony raised his eyebrows. “Did your mother do something to you?” “No, Daddy,” Aviela replied firmly. Then, after a pause, she added, “Can we take a stroll? I want to tell you about the perso...
