Ade pulled into the compound slowly, the exhaustion of the day very obvious on him. As he switched off the engine and leaned back in his seat, he noticed Harmony rushing towards him from his side of the house.
“Mr. Ade! Mr. Ade!” Harmony called out, waving his hand.
Ade turned toward him, his face tired and expression unreadable. “Yes?”
Harmony approached cautiously, trying to read Ade’s mood. “Can we talk?” he asked, his voice careful, almost hesitant.
Ade stared at him for a moment, the cloud of his own personal struggles mixing with the curiosity of why Harmony wanted to speak was overwhelming. He sighed deeply, then nodded. “Alright.”

Evelyn sat in her mother-in-law’s living room, her fingers intertwined in her lap, her eyes focused on the older woman before her.
She had come for answers...
“Evelyn, I am not a bad person. I didn’t put them asunder just like that.” Harmony's mother said
Evelyn’s voice was gentle, but her words were firm. “Mommy, what happened?”
Mommy’s face clouded as she thought back to that time. “There was a revelation,” she began, her voice low. “After I prayed, asking God to show me who Tomike really was, I saw her. It wasn’t a good vision, Evelyn. I saw her trying to climb up a ladder, but no matter how hard she tried, she kept falling off. That was a bad omen, I shared it with my prophet at that time, who also said it was a bad omen and I had to tell my son to break it off with her.”
Evelyn’s heart ached at the story, but she couldn’t hold back her own thoughts. “Ha! Mommy… I know you love your children very, very much. But I cannot deny that your prayer point was faulty, also Breaking up a relationship for Harmony was not the right thing to do.”
Mommy looked at her with surprise. “How?”
“Harmony wasn’t a child, Mommy,” Evelyn explained. “He was a full-grown man who made promises to a young woman who loved him. You should have let him handle it, let him break it off by himself instead of doing it for him.”
Mommy blinked, looking down at her hands. “I didn’t think of it like that.”
Evelyn’s voice softened, but her conviction remained. “And secondly, Mommy, your prayer point wasn’t specific enough. You asked God to reveal who Tomike was, but not how their journey together would be. What you saw could have been a personal struggle she was going through at that time. It might have had nothing to do with her relationship with Harmony.”
Mommy frowned, her eyes reflecting both regret and confusion.
“Evelyn, I was being protective of my children. Their father left me, and I raised those boys alone. I didn’t want them to make a marital mistake. And believe me, I prayed about you too, and everything I saw about you was good. As it is still good.”
Evelyn smiled gently, appreciating her mother-in-law’s heart. “And Tomike’s life is not bad either. She’s our neighbor, Mommy. She works in a good hospital as a nurse, and she’s married. See, I’m sure if you had prayed about me five years before I met Harmony, you probably would have seen a crazy lady dressed in rags.”
Mommy’s eyes widened in shock. “Ha!”
“Yes, Mommy,” Evelyn continued, her smile fading as she recalled her own struggles. “I had my own share of life’s battles. My father left me when I was Just, so I was passed from relative to relative. My life was messed up. My life was not palatable at all, until I met Jesus.”
Mommy sighed, shaking her head as tears gathered in her eyes. “I’m truly sorry. God sees my heart, Evelyn. I never meant to cause anyone harm.”
Evelyn reached out, placing a comforting hand on Mommy’s. “I believe you, Mommy. And I hope to see Tomike soon."
"What can I do now, Evelyn? She must hate me…”
Evelyn paused for a moment, then smiled warmly. “If you could record an apology on my phone, it would go a long way in helping her heal.”
Mommy looked at her, surprise and hesitation in her eyes. “An apology? On the phone?”
Evelyn nodded, pulling her phone out of her bag. “Yes, Mommy. It’s time to let her hear your heart. It might be the first step toward healing for her.”
" Hmmm..." Mommy sighed deeply, then nodded. “Bring the phone… ha… bring it.”
Evelyn set the phone to record and placed it on the table between them. Mommy sat up straight, folding her hands in her lap, and took a deep breath before she began speaking.
"Tomike...,
