Bury my sins 18

Title: “BURY MY SINS, NOT ME CHAPTER 18 (AT AMINAT MANSION) —- The following day, on a Sunday morning, Aminat woke up and slowly walked to the dashboard in her room. "I can't believe I'm running out of time," she thought. "It feels like just yesterday I was celebrating my 24th birthday, and now I'm counting down the days until my de’-ath. Life isn't fair." She took her marker and crossed out the previous Saturday on her countdown calendar, leaving her with only 42 days until her 25th birthday, which would also be the day she would d.-ie. Aminat felt a wave of sadness wash over her. "I'm not ready to d.’ie," she said softly. "I still have so much I want to do in life." She sighed and looked at her bucket list on the table. "I've accomplished some things, but there's still so much left undone," she thought while ticking off the things she had already done, but her mind was filled with regret for the things she ...

Chapter 17 “Bury my sins, not me” —--------------- (AT AMINAT MANSION) “What's in the laptop, Pastor Solomon?" Bosco asked again with a curious tone, after Pastor Solomon had pretended he didn't hear the question the first time. Pastor Solomon hesitated a bit and began to dart his eyes around the room nervously as if the answers to the question were there. "Oh, uh, my laptop? Well, it's just... church business, you see. Nothing important, really," he managed to reply with a stammering voice. Gabriel didn't seem satisfied with the pastor's answer. He raised his head, still looking doubtful. “Church business? Didn't you say the pastor here is dead? So why bother himself with church business when he could just leave it to the new pastor or the living?" Gabriel asked, looking puzzled while turning to face Aminat and Bosco to reason along with him. Pastor Solomon's ghost shifted uncomfortably in his seat. He didn't move or speak like he was...

— (AT AMINAT MANSION) Aminat and Gabriel were still in the bedroom together when they suddenly heard Bosco's frightened voice from downstairs. "Help! Somebody help me! There's a ghost in the compound!" Bosco had seen Pastor Solomon's ghost enter the compound through the front gate without opening it. He was so terrified that he held onto the wall for support, begging the ghost to please spare him. "Don't harm me!" he pleaded. He quickly ran into his gateman lodge with his heart racing with fear and shut the door behind him. He leaned against the wall, panting heavily, before slowly hiding under a bed while shaking with terror. Bosco couldn't understand why Pastor Solomon's ghost was in the compound, especially since he had been dead and buried for weeks.  "What does he want? Is he here to haunt us?" He lay there under the bed, frozen with fear in his chief security uniform, unable to move or defend himself. Pastor Solomon's ghos...

—------ (AT OFFICER PAUL'S APARTMENT) Loveth and Grace busied themselves with packing their belongings from Officer Paul's house, ready to return to their father's house after the court case and final encounter they had with their dads Ghost. When they were done packing, Loveth turned to Officer Paul with a warm smile on her face. “Thank you for taking us in, Officer Paul. We appreciate everything you have done for us,” she said while opening her arms wide and hugging Officer Paul tightly. Grace watched the exchange with a reserved expression on her face. She knew her sister's hug wasn't just for the appreciation of kindness but for her own feelings for Mr. Paul. She smiled weakly at her sister after she disengaged from Paul, then turned to look at Officer Paul too, with a hint of gratitude in her eyes.  “Thank you, Officer Paul,” Grace said simply while dragging her heavy bag towards the door. She is uncomfortable and fed up with Loveth's display of affection t...

—----------- Mr. Olamide's ghost sat on a couch in Aminat's mansion early the next morning. He looked relieved, happy, and grateful, knowing his daughters were in safe hands now.  He waited for Aminat to come out, so he could say his final goodbye before vanishing into the afterlife. After about fifteen minutes of waiting, Aminat stepped into the living room, and Mr. Olamide's ghost quickly stood up and began speaking. "I'm very grateful for what you've done, Aminat," he said. "You've helped me and my daughters a lot, and I really appreciate it." He paused and took a long, deep breath. "I just wanted to say my final goodbye before I go."  Aminat's eyes welled up with tears. She had grown fond of Mr. Olamide's ghost and regretted ignoring him all this while. He had proven to be a good man with the little time that they had together. Aminat went back into her room and returned with a nice T-shirt and trousers. "I had plan...

(AT MR. CHUKWUMA'S COMPOUND) Mr. Chukwuma sat in front of his compound, wearing a wrapper around his waist and holding a chewing stick in his mouth. He was enjoying the evening breeze when he heard a knock on the gate. "Come in, the gate is open," Mr. Chukwuma said, taking a sip from the palm wine on the stool beside him. A suited man with a tie walked in and approached Mr. Chukwuma. "Good day, Mr. Chukwuma," the lawyer said, handing him a brown envelope. Mr. Chukwuma took the envelope and opened it. He pulled out the letter inside and read: "To Mr. Chukwuma, You are hereby summoned to appear in court on June 28 at 9:00 AM at the Lagos High Court. You are required to answer to allegations of fraudulent acquisition of the Olamide family property. Please take notice that you must appear in person, as failure to do so may result in a default judgment. Sincerely, Lawyer Kunle" Mr. Chukwuma's eyes widened as he read the letter with worries on his face. ...

—------ (AT THE POLICE STATION) Mr. Paul arrived at the office early and assembled a team of investigators, as instructed by the superintendent.  They gathered around a dashboard, and Paul began to speak, "Good morning, officers. We're reopening the case of Officer Abimbola. This time, we'll leave no stone unturned." The officers exchanged quick glances and began to murmur among themselves. "Didn't he say she was dead? Finding a dead body is impossible. It would have decomposed or been buried by now." Paul raised his hand to silence them. "I understand your concerns, but our mission is not to recover the body. Our objective is to identify the culprits, determine what they did with the body, and understand their motives. We'll review Officer Abimbola's files again, check nearby CCTV cameras for clues, and follow up on any leads. If anyone finds something, don't hesitate to inform the team." He dismissed the officers, and they began t...
