Harmony and Liam cruised through the quiet streets. Harmony slowed down, scanning the area.
“Bros Harmony, this surprise birthday for Men only? ” Liam asked for the umpteenth time.
Harmony grinned, keeping his eyes ahead. “Liam, I already told you. A friend is throwing me a birthday celebration. They insisted on doing something special.”
" Special Friends! You don join cult?"
Harmony chuckled. “Special friends, man. I was surprised too, but now that we’re here, let’s just stop by. It’ll be quick.”
Liam checked the time on his phone. “It’s late, Harmony. Almost 8:30 p.m.”
“I promise, we won’t stay long,” Harmony said, parking the car and stepping out.
Reluctantly, Liam followed his brother inside the hall. As they entered, the vibrant atmosphere greeted them...laughter, music, and the low buzz of conversations. In the crowd, they spotted Tomike.
Tomike’s face lit up when she saw Harmony. She rose from her seat and embraced him warmly, holding the hug a moment too long. Their eyes locked in an unspoken exchange, one that made Liam’s stomach churn. He remained by the door, irritation boiling within him.
Tomike glanced at Liam and smiled, but he didn’t move.
“What’s wrong with you, Liam? Come in,” she called out, waving him over.
Harmony walked back toward his brother, placing a hand on his shoulder to guide him in.
Liam jerked his arm away. “Bros Harmony, no dey touch me,” he hissed, his voice laced with anger.
Harmony leaned closer, trying to calm him down. “Liam, relax. What’s the problem?”
Liam’s fury boiled over. “I said don’t touch me, Harmony!” he snapped, pushing his brother aside and striding toward Tomike.
“Liam!” Harmony called after him.
Liam stopped in front of Tomike, his eyes burning with frustration. “Tomike, look at me.” His voice was cold, filled with barely contained rage. “I don’t know what you think you’re doing, but listen to me carefully...my brother is a married man. And in case you haven’t noticed, he’s not married to you.”
Tomike blinked, taken aback by his outburst. “Liam, what’s the...”
“Don’t you dare say my name,” Liam interrupted, his tone sharp. “Whatever you had with Harmony ended fifteen years ago. It’s time to wake up and go home, Tomike.”
Without waiting for a response, Liam turned on his heel and began to walk out. He noticed Harmony lingering behind, pleading with Tomike, and the sight made his blood boil. Turning back, Liam stormed toward his brother and grabbed him by the arm, pulling him out of the hall.

Outside the hall, the two brothers faced off, the tension between them palpable.
Harmony’s voice shook with anger. “Liam, you made her cry! Did you see how she was crying?”
Liam’s anger matched his brother’s. “Harmony, what is wrong with you?” He stepped closer, his face inches from Harmony’s. “Look at me. We’re brothers, born of the same parents. Yes, you’re older, but right now, you need to wake up and think! Go home to your wife and children. Stop being an embarrassment.”
Harmony’s expression faltered, but he remained silent as Liam walked off toward the car. Without looking back, Liam called over his shoulder, “Come move this car, let’s get out of here.”

The tension followed them into Harmony’s home. As they walked through the door, Evelyn, greeted them with her usual warmth. She smiled brightly.
" Birthday Boy in the building...I am still jealous ooo, Birthday Bash only for the boys...It is well!...How was it! How was the food?"
“My beautiful wife,” Liam said, wrapping her in a quick embrace. “Thirteen and a half years of marriage, and you’re still the best thing to ever happen to my brother and our family. Nothing will scatter your home, nothing will disturb your peace, and nothing evil will come near your children.” Liam said with sarcasm laced in his voice
Evelyn laughed softly, touched by his words. “Amen. Thank you, my father-in-law.”
“I’m starving,” Liam said, his smile growing. “Where’s dinner?”
" Didn't you eat at the bash?" Evelyn asked obviously surprised
" They forgot to serve us food!" Liam said
" What! Babe...you look tired! Are you okay?" Evelyn said facing her husband.
" I am fine! Just tired!" Harmony answered, anger still evident on his face.
" Better Wife, please I dey H.( I am hungry) " Liam said
“I will prepare something real quick,” Evelyn replied
Evelyn noticed the tension in her husband’s demeanor. “My love, will you have something too?" she said gently.
Harmony shook his head. “Later,” he muttered before walking out of the room.
Concern flickered in Evelyn’s eyes as she watched him go. “Is everything okay?” she asked, turning to Liam.
" I hope you guys have not had one of your fights?"
Liam shrugged, a forced smile on his lips. "Your husband? He’s fine. Don’t worry about him.”
Evelyn sighed but nodded, trusting Liam’s reassurance. She moved toward the kitchen to fetch his meal, leaving Liam to his thoughts.
As Evelyn returned with plates of food, Liam’s mood lifted again. “Where are my babies?” he asked, glancing around.
“I sent them to their room already,” she replied with a smile.
Liam grinned. “Wonderful children. Wonderful Wife! You’ve raised amazing kids, Evelyn.”
Evelyn’s laughter filled the room as she served him his dinner, Evelyn's heart was the purest!
Liam shook his head still in disbelief...
"Married Woman organizing special birthday bash for another married man! Na wa! Things dey sup for this world!"( Things are happening in this World) Liam said under his breath with irritation.
" You were saying something?" Evelyn asked
" Nothing ...I was happy about the kind of Married woman you are."
Evelyn's laughter filled the room again...
