Bury my sins 25
EPISODE 25
TITLE: “BURY MY SINS,NOT ME”
(AT AMINAT MANSION)
Aminat, Bosco, and Gabriel sat on a comfy couch in Aminat's living room, all set to talk about the problem at hand with Chioma's Ghost sitting across from them.
“Chioma, I'm really sorry about what happened. I had no clue at all....'" Aminat said, feeling bad for Chioma and also surprised to meet her ghost.
“"It's not your fault, Aminat," Chioma's Ghost said sadly, glancing around the luxurious living room. "I was so engrossed in work that I didn't notice my own life slipping away," Chioma's Ghost added, appearing sorrowful.
"Engrossed at work? What do you mean by that?" Aminat asked, looking puzzled and perplexed at a time. "What project were you working on that was so crucial?”
"Chioma's Ghost began to explain, “There's this project I was working on before my passing, Aminat. It's a creation that I believed would stand out as the best design at the upcoming “designer world show.”
"The designer world show? You mean the one with the grand prize of millions of naira?" Aminat asked with eyes widened in surprise. "It could have been a dream come true if you were still alive, Chioma. I remember how much you wanted to be part of that annual show. I even bought you a ticket last year because I knew how much it meant to you. It's just so heartbreaking that you weren't selected to participate back then," Aminat expressed, feeling deeply saddened for her.
“Well I was fortunate to be selected this year, and surprisingly, my boss and I are both in the same competition with other applicants.” Chioma said somberly. “I understand that it might seem strange to be in the same competition with my boss, but I have proven myself, and I have been diligent in my work over the years too..'
"Taking a deep breath, Chioma's Ghost continued, “I created a design for myself, I also collaborated with my boss to enhance her design creatively,'’
"Wow, that's incredible," Aminat exclaimed. "I had no clue you were involved in something so significant. What happened though?" Aminat inquired. "Why did you mention 'if death hadn't taken you away'?”
"Chioma sighed deeply and began to explain. “Because, Aminat, I was so certain my design would have propelled me onto the world stage, opening doors to incredible opportunities with top brands. Winning that prize money also would have been my ticket to establish myself in the fashion industry. But fate had different plans,' Chioma said sadly, ‘'and here I am, unable to find peace even after death.”
"I am so sorry, Chioma," Aminat expressed sympathetically. "That must have been devastating for you. So, what will happen to your projects now? Are you giving them up to allow your dream to come true through your boss?”
“Ofcouse Aminat. I jointly worked on my boss' project too.” Chioma said confidently. “A win for my boss is more like a dream come true for me too. We shared a similar Goal and I will be happy to see my dream come through if she wins.”
“We will support whatever your dreams are chioma, we will do anything to help if we can.” Aminat told her reassuringly. “We will be there in the gathering to support you while your dreams come true.” She added while turning to face Bosco who had been quiet since the conversation began, and it felt unusual because he is not often a quiet person.
Aminat, feeling a mix of surprise, turned to Bosco who had been quiet all along and said, "We have another simple task at hand Bosco, and since you have forcefully made yourself available to see Ghost, you should be ready to offer help too. So tell me, what do you think about Chioma's dreams and how can we help achieve them?"
Bosco, with a serious expression, crossed his arms and said, "I am sorry to say, ma, and please don't be annoyed with what I am about to say. But that dream she has can not come true, it can never, never, never come true. And I am not ready to offer help to this kind of Ghost."
Aminat, looking curious, asked Bosco, "But why is that? By your response Bosco, it seems there's more to Chioma's story that we haven't heard of."
"That's because she had told you her story and left out the most important aspect of it.” Bosco replied with a hint of annoyance in his voice. “So for this reason, this dream cannot come to reality."
Aminat, raising an eyebrow, inquired further, "What do you mean, Bosco? You should at least feel pity and be nice to her."
Bosco, maintaining his stance, said, "Madam Aminat, if you truly follow this Chioma's story of her life that she just narrated to you, you will notice that she mentioned her design, the contest, and a grand prize of millions of naira. But could you believe this w*icked Ghost possessed my body and withdrew my money. But she never spoke about any way of refunding me or paying me back while narrating her story to you.”
Aminat, with eyes widened in surprise, asked, "How did that happen?" Turning to face Chioma's ghost.
"Bosco taught me how to possess someone,” Chioma shyly admitted. “And I tried it out on him first. I mean no harm, I just wanted to try it to see if I could borrow a body for the contest or go there as a ghost."
Deeply disappointed, Aminat turned to face Bosco with a stern face. "You will end up ki--lling yourself because of your mouth if you think every ghost can be trusted, Bosco. We have ghosts that are wicked too, you should have taken the prophecy concerning Pastor Solomon, for example. Your mouth will ki--ll you before the appointed time," Aminat yelled at him angrily.
Softening her voice, Aminat then turned to Chioma's Ghost. "I know how desperate you want to be at the contest, Chioma, but possessing someone is not that good, and I am certain Bosco didn't tell you the bad side to it. You will have to attend the show like the ghost that you are, and we will be there to make your last moment a grand one.”
“Thank you Aminat,” Chioma's Ghost replied to her while nodding her head in confirmation to what Aminat said.”

(AT THE HOSPITAL)
Pastor Solomon, now in the new body he has possessed, wakes up in the hospital and feeling great pain. Determined to leave, he removes the IV drips and tubes from his possessed body despite his badly injured leg.
Slowly getting out of bed, he starts dragging himself out of the hospital room. The nurses try to stop him, but he insists that he has to go because of pressing issues.
"I will come back for treatment later," Pastor Solomon said through the possessed body. "I need to go take care of something important first.”
The nurses were concerned and wondered what kind of man is this that was so adamant even in his state. They watched as he slowly made his way through the hospital hallway, saying, "I will be back repeatedly," until he disappeared from their view, heading straight to the Anglican Church of God.
On his way to the church through the body he had possessed, he encountered someone who looked like a street tout that greeted him.
"Greetings to you, Usman Danladi, the number one troublemaker in the whole neighborhood," the person saluting hailed him, unaware that the physical appearance might truly be Usman Danladi, but the soul within the body is pastor Solomon.
Pastor Solomon ignored the person saluting him completely, and he continued his journey past him without a word. He understood that the soul is what recognizes humans, because the soul is the life force of the physical body. Usman Danladi might recognize this person saluting him now when his soul was in the body, but it's a different soul entirely now, and the body is just a mask of who we really are within.
Pastor Solomon, through the possessed body, was unsure of the life Usman Danladi had lived before his accident. He got more than five more people hailing him on his way to the Anglican Church of God and it began to bother him. Because with the look of things, Usman Danladi must have live a very bad and n”otorious lifestyle with this Body when he was alive.
“Something's in life are better left unsaid, " pastor Solomon muttered within himself. “Because how will I explain to people and make them believe that the soul within this body is no longer Usman Danladi.
When Pastor Solomon got to the Anglican Church of God through the possessed body, He understood the workings of the Anglican Church of God better than anyone else because that is where he served as a pastor before his untimely death.
He knew that the church was always open for supplication and prayers, but the church office was typically closed unless the pastor was present for counseling or on Sundays.
So he decided to sit around the church premises, while also contemplating if he should apply for the work of a cleaner because it will enable him to gain quick access to the pastoral office when he can lay hold of the laptop.
