Bury my sins 23

EPISODE 23

TITLE: “BURY MY SINS,NOT ME”

(AT ANGLICAN CHURCH OF GOD)

Pastor Thomas, the new Anglican Church pastor, was in his office. He had just finished advising the young people about the risks of f*raud and why they should avoid it.

As the youths were getting ready to leave, he looked at the password-protected laptop in his office and wanted to ask one of the youths for help with it.

"Hey guys, I need a hand with this laptop," Pastor Thomas said, frowning slightly and adjusting his glasses. "It's been locked since I arrived here, and I really need to get into it now.”

"Don't you remember the password, Pastor?" one of the youths asked, looking curiously at the laptop.

"Erm no," Pastor Thomas said, shaking his head. "Actually, I'm not the one who set the password. Pastor Solomon did before his death. I have no idea what the password could be," he replied.

"How about I help you take it to a repair shop, sir," the youth suggested, looking straight at the pastor. "I know a friend who knows a friend, and they can help you fix it in no time.”

"More like a good idea then," Pastor Thomas said. "I just need to access the laptop to save some important documents and notes for the church. You can bring it to the church on Sunday," he added, handing the youth a bill of 5000 Naira. "But if it costs more, feel free to give me a call.”

Alright, Pastor Thomas, have a nice day," the youth said as they dismissed themselves from his church office.

(AT AMINAT MANSION)

Aminat stepped out of  her big mansion, and Gabriel, who was already in the car, started up the car's ignition, and they drove out of the compound.

With only Bosco and the ghost lady left in the entire mansion, he bravely enters to confront the ghost who had been disturbing him in his gateman lodge, trying to conceal his fears.

'Why do you think you can control me and invade my space like that? Possessing my body without my consent and shouting all over the compound.” Bosco was furious as he yelled at the ghost in his bed. “If you continue with this behavior, you won't survive in this house, mark my words.'” he added.

The ghost lady interjected immediately, "Bosco, you really need to get your priorities straight. You can't just ask me to leave when you were the one who called me here. She paused, then took a long breath and continued. “Also, you should be concerned that you're spiritually empty because you told me ghosts can only possess the empty, what does that make you then? Work on yourself or more spirit will take advantage of your body. evil ones though, not me.” The ghost added

Bosco stammered, "But I pray five times daily as a Muslim, and I attend churches at random whenever I can too," he said.

"It ain't just 'about prayers, it's 'about being right with God,"  the ghost lady retorted as she shot a piercing look at Bosco.

They were still in the middle of their chat and mild argument when Bosco's phone started buzzing in his pocket. He reached in, pulled out his phone, and his jaw dropped in shock at what he saw on the screen.

"250k debit alert, how? I did not withdraw any money now," he exclaimed, flinging his hands in a gesture of surprise at the ghost lady.

The ghost slowly put her hand on her head, scratching it nervously and feeling uneasy. “Um...I…I thought you should have seen the alert yesterday," she confessed, looking shyly at Bosco who appeared furious already.  "Maybe the network delayed the alert, that's why you are just seeing it now," she added, looking away.

"Why are you telling me this now?" Bosco inquired, clearly irritated, as he glared at the ghost and attempted to grasp her in frustration, only to find his hand passing through her ghostly form. "What do you intend to do with my 250k? What does a ghost need money for?"

"Last night, after entering your body and possessing you," the ghost started to clarify. "I took your ATM card and went to an ATM machine where I used your fingerprint instead of a password to withdraw a little amount of money," the ghost lady whispered softly.

Bosco was getting really mad, but he was trying hard to keep his cool before blowing up. He wanted to see if he could get his money back first before acting out.

"Where's the money now?" Bosco demanded as he clenched his fists, tapped his foot in frustration, and drummed his fingers on the floor as if it's possible for him to grab the ghost and give her the beating of her life.

The ghost pointed slowly to a bag in Bosco's room containing the clothes and said, "I...I used it to buy clothes for an upcoming important occasion."

Bosco walked to the corner of the room where the lady pointed. “You must return this cloth and get me back my money. And you are also leaving today. I have endured enough." He attempted to pick up the leather containing the clothes when he reached there, but his hands went through it again like air, unable to make contact with the physical objects.

Fear immediately gripped Bosco and he stood there deep in thought and wondering what was wrong with him. “First I tried to grab the ghost lady but I couldn't,” Bosco thought. “Well the lady is a ghost already, and it's normal not to be able to touch her. But why can't I grab a nylon containing clothes now again? Does it mean I am dead already? Bosco questioned himself silently as he slumped to the ground after countless attempts of grabbing the clothes nylon but he couldn't. He began to cry and mourn himself.

The ghost lady felt pity when she saw Bosco crying,” I am sorry Bosco, I didn't mean to hurt you like that. I will repay you, I promised when I finally win the contest I am going for.” She said with all sincerity, not knowing the situation Bosco is into at the moment.

“Ah, I am finished,” Bosco cried out loud, who k*illed me and how? Why am I suddenly dead? Bosco continued to ponder and cry out loud.

"Hey, hey, calm down. You are not dead yet," the ghost lady said while trying to calm Bosco. "Is it about not being able to grab the clothes nylon? That's because they are no longer physical. They are out of this world.” she added.

What do you mean, they are no longer appearing in the physical, Bosco asked? Slowly wiping his tears off in relief.

"You remember what you taught me about wearing clothes, right?" the ghost lady asked Bosco, fixing her gaze on him. "You said if I wanted to wear anything, I had to burn them first to make sure they weren't physical. So, I bought the clothes yesterday, burned them as you instructed, and brought them here. You can see them because of your special vision, so you're not dead; it's the clothes that are no longer alive."

"Just shut it! Bosco snapped at the ghost angrily. “Yeah, I taught you all that. But why turn it on me? You bought one piece of clothing for 250k, and here I am, sweating under the sun and rain daily, never spending more than 10k a year on myself - that's my limit!" Bosco added.

"I apologize for my behavior earlier. I was just desperate to be part of the fashion world again.” The ghost said with all sincerity. “You see, I was in a contest for a prestigious fashion show, but fate cruelly took my life before I could realize my dream. The show is scheduled for next week, and I long to make it my final memory before I depart this world. It has always been my passion, but death snatched it away from me.” I am sorry for hurting you like that.

"Oh God in heaven, it's as if there will be two ghosts in this house, fiercely competing against each other until the end of time today! Bosco yelled at her Angrily. "Death took you away, blah blah blah, not my problem. Did you think you could take my money because of some useless show? If I don't get my money, I swear..." Bosco fumed angrily. He then remembered a ghost repellent Aminat had given him for protection when he started seeing ghosts. "Why didn't I remember this before," he muttered, taking out a sacred rosary from the drawer.

Bosco, with the rosary in hand, marched angrily towards the ghost lady and was going to wipe her with it when she suddenly let out a terrified cry and scream, then poof, she vanished into thin air instantly because of the rosary in Bosco's hand.

Feeling frustrated after the ghost disappeared, Bosco stepped outside to calm his nerves, but to his surprise and dismay, he still saw the ghost lady standing around the gate and refusing to leave. She had only disappeared from the room to outside the gate.

"Please, just let me take the clothes and leave! I just wanted to support my boss and see her win the contest. We worked on the project tirelessly together and I want it to be my last memory before leaving this world. please!” the ghost continued to plead with Bosco.

"Oh Bosco, you talk too much!" he chastised himself. "If I hadn't told this lady that she could possess someone, she would never have even thought of it, let alone using their body to enter a contest. I've made a grave mistake," he muttered angrily, ignoring the ghost lady's pleas from the other side of the gate.

"Just then, Amina and Gabriel arrived in her car, and Aminat saw the ghost of the lady right in front of her mansion. 'Can you please tone down a bit, Gabriel?' she instructed, I am seeing a ghost right now and it seems to be Chioma, my designer.
