Bury my sins 22
EPISODE 22
TITLE: “BURY MY SINS, NOT ME”
(AT AMINAT MANSION)
Bosco is very scared and standing in the corner of his small gateman's lodge, trying to get away from the ghost lady he tried to flirt with during the day.
The room is not very bright, and the ghost lady's see-through figure is sitting on Bosco's bed with her legs crossed, staring at Bosco with a stern face."
"Come share the bed with me, Bosco. This is still your room. So why are you shivering and acting like a total stranger? You can't sleep standing like that, so come over here," the ghost lady yelled at him.
"No, no, no, the bed is all yours tonight," Bosco managed to say despite his fears. "You can have it all to yourself until tomorrow morning when you decide to leave.”
"Until I leave tomorrow morning? The ghost lady said, looking surprised. Who said I'm leaving tomorrow? Didn't you ask me to stay with you forever when you were flirting with me and using nursery students' pick-up lines? Now that I'm being nice with you, Bosco, come, let's share this bed together.”
Bosco's face was pale and sweaty, fear evident in every expression. He trembled as he slowly moved closer to the bed with heavy footsteps and his palms locked together.
Reluctant to spend the night sharing the same bed with a ghost, he slowly sat down on the far edge of the bed, keeping his distance with his face down.
The ghost lady gestured for him to move closer with her hand. "Come sit close to me now, Bosco!" she said.
Bosco hesitated, but the Ghost kept on signaling him to move closer with her hand, wiggling her fingers a bit until Bosco shifted closer while still keeping his face on the floor.
She signaled again, moving her hand closer to her body, and Bosco took another step closer to the ghost, dragging his feets on the floor.
Once more, the ghost lady signaled for him to come closer, patting the bed beside her to indicate where she wanted Bosco to sit, and he slowly sat down close to her, feeling scared.
The Ghost smiled, appearing satisfied and she began to speak."I won't hurt you, I'm just a regular ghost, and I won't bite," she said, attempting to touch Bosco, but her hands kept passing through him. "See? I can't even hold you anymore because I don't have a physical body. You must have watched a lot of Nollywood movies to think ghosts can harm," the ghost lady said, trying to calm Bosco down.
"But... but that's not entirely true," Bosco said, stuttering. "Madam Aminat mentioned that it's not a good thing that I can see ghosts now. She said some of them can become evil ghosts when they strongly dislike this world, and that's when they can h*arm living humans," Bosco explained.
"Is that true? Ghosts can h*arm humans?" the ghost lady asked, looking surprised with wide eyes.
"Yep," Bosco nodded. "Madam Aminat also mentioned that they can take over humans, especially those who are spiritually empty. She said Ghosts can possess them and borrow their body for as long as they want. Madam Aminat knows all this because she has been dealing with Ghost for a long time and she wants me to be careful.
The Ghost lady reacted swiftly when she heard that ghosts can possess humans. "This is all new to me and almost sounds impossible," she said, turning quickly to face Bosco.
"New? No, they're not," Bosco said. "Madam Aminat mentioned that they've been around since forever. When you want to possess someone, you have to do it like this," Bosco stood up and demonstrated, "but the major key is that you really have to focus and then run into the person you want to possess.”
Immediately after Bosco's demonstration, the Ghost lady quickly stood up and moved a bit away from Bosco, narrowing her eyes at him as he sat on the bed.
"You must be kidding right," Bosco said when he saw the Ghost lady standing up and staring at him with focus. "I may have sharpened your teeth, but you wouldn't actually use them to h*arm me, would you?" Bosco said, crossing his arms protectively across his chest and regretting why he talks too much.
"Just watch, Bosco," the ghost lady said as she started running towards him. Bosco got so scared and frightened that he screamed. But it is too late; the ghost lady ran into him and possessed his body.
Right away, there came a knock on the gateman's lodge after the possession, and the possessed-Bosco went to open it.
"Bosco, I've been warning you that you are losing your mind slowly, but you never listened. Why are you yelling like that late at night? Do you want to upset Madam Aminat?" Gabriel asked him immediately as the gateman's door swung open, looking angrily at him.
Bosco - possessed, said, "I'm sorry, baby," while rubbing Gabriel's cheek. "By the way, you look handsome, and I like your broad chest.”
"When did that one start between me and you, Bosco?" Gabriel said while pushing him away angrily. "The next time you try such a thing with me, just consider yourself gone.” he warned before walking out on him.
Just then, the ghost lady stepped out of Bosco, and he came back to his senses.
"Thank you," the Ghost lady said, showing gratitude after using his body.
"Thank you for what exactly? What have I done to deserve a thank you?” Bosco asks, looking surprised.
"Erm, never mind,” the ghost lady said. “You can arrange the bed now while we sleep together.”
"I will arrange the bed, but it still doesn't mean that we are sleeping on it together.” Bosco said defensively. “I can't share my bed with a ghost, and what kind of ghost sleeps, self?”
The ghost lady shouted at Bosco, "You think I can't hurt you right? I could become an evil ghost like you said and then you'll be in trouble! Hurry up and make the bed now before I get angry!" The ghost lady commanded.
Bosco became scared and terrified, he quickly started making the bed for the both of them to sleep on.
—----------------------
The next morning, Aminat woke up feeling sad. She went to her calendar and canceled the previous days, leaving her with just 30 days until her 25th birthday, which also marks the day she is dying.
She undressed and went into her bathroom, letting the water flow over her body. Her feet weakened, and she sat on the bathroom floor, looking sad and depressed with teary eyes."I really don't want to die anymore," she sobbed bitterly.
(Because Aminat lineage all die at age 25 doesn't mean they have to choose how they die all the time.
Although most of her family members pass away in their sleep, there is still a family record book that has documented various types of deaths and locations in their lineage. Many of them gave up their lives in places of worship while seeking salvation. They had people who suddenly fell and died, others were in home accidents too).
Aminat didn't know how she would pass away, but she didn't want to think about it now. She left the bathroom in a towel round her body, stepped into her bedroom and took her bucket list. She saw where she had written "die at age 26" and It felt almost impossible for her to achieve now.
She slowly picked up her phone from the edge of her bed and dialed Gabriel's number “Hello there, Gabriel. Get the car ready. We need to go somewhere.” Aminat instructed him over the phone.
“Alright, ma'am.” Gabriel replied from the other end of the phone, sounding groggy with sleep still in his eyes. He went down to the compound to switch on the car ignition to warm it up when Bosco suddenly jolted up from sleep upon hearing the sound of the car warming.
Bosco glanced around his gateman lodge and noticed the ghost lady still sleeping. He quietly crept out of bed and was just about to sneak outside when the ghost lady called him back.
"Where do you think you're off to?" the ghost lady inquired. "You must have seen too many Nollywood movies to think ghosts actually sleep.”
"Ghosts can sleep if they really want to," Bosco remarked, gazing at the lady lying on his bed.
"Really, how?" the ghost lady asked, rising from the bed with curiosity all over her ghostly face.
"I got you," Bosco said, smiling. "I already told you all that I learnt from Madam Aminat. There is no way a ghost can sleep.”
"Are you making fun of me now because I'm a ghost?" she asked, making an angry face at Bosco.
"No, that's not it," Bosco quickly interjected. "Let me quickly see my boss outside and say good morning to her. They're warming the car already, and I might need to open the gate for them as well.”
"You didn't say good morning to me yet," the Ghost lady said, looking directly at Bosco.
"How should I greet you?" Bosco asked, gazing at the lady. "If we consider age, I'm actually older than you," Bosco added.
"Well, age doesn't matter here. I'm a ghost and automatically older than you in death. So, you should show me respect," the Ghost lady explained to Bosco.
"Good morning, madam Ghost," Bosco said shyly before heading out to the compound, where he spotted Gabriel preparing the car.
"Gabriel, my man!" Bosco greeted him enthusiastically, raising both hands in the air to salute him.
"Come on, get your filthy hands off me, who's your buddy?" Gabriel interrupted. "Is that why you were all touchy-feely last night? C*aressing my body when I came to warn you to reduce your shoutings? Let me make this clear, Bosco. If that happens again, you're out, and I'm serious," Gabriel warned sternly.
"Touch you? When did I touch you? How?" Bosco asked, looking perplexed. It then dawned on him that he might have been possessed by the ghost lady last night after giving her tips on how to do it.
Seriously? Are you asking me, Gabriel said while staring annoyed at him. If it's not you, then who? Who touched me then? Gabriel questioned him further.
"Must have been some sort of Gen Z baddie ghost, but don't worry, I got this fam," Bosco said, offering a handshake to Gabriel, who ignored him.
Gen Z Ghost or whatever, can you just listen to yourself? I will report you to madam Aminat once she steps downstairs. Gabriel said.
