Bury my sins 21
CHAPTER 21
TITLE: “BURY MY SINS,NOT ME”
(IN AN OLD HUT)
The young apprentice herbalist asked, looking straight at the old Baba, "Why has Officer Abimbola's body been getting darker these past few days?" He asked with curiosity as he examined Abimbola's uniform to be sure the name he mentioned was correct.
The baba replied to his inexperienced apprentice, "When a ghost becomes evil, it is because they resent this world deeply. It seems her spirit now dislikes this world profoundly and has resorted to possessing someone too, which is also hindering her recovery.”
The apprentice, with a confused expression, asked, "What can we do to help her? And why is she suddenly resenting this world?”
“Hmmm, my son, there's nothing we can do to help her,” the baba began to explain.
“Ghosts resent this world mainly because of humans. When someone passes away, it's important to pray for their peace, instead of telling them to seek revenge.”
“Some even try to communicate with the dead or bury them with we*apons for v*engeance, which can deeply anger the spirits.” The Baba paused, and continued.
“Sometimes, the actions of the living can also play a big role. If a ghost leaves behind children or things they cared about and sees them being mistreated, it can lead to feelings of resentment and even turn them evil,” the herbalist said and took a long breath.
"This is really bad. I wish there was a method to stop her from turning evil.” The apprentice said, staring sadly at Abimbola's body on the ground.
"There is no way, my son," replied the herbalist. "When a ghost turns evil, they have made their choice. However, it can cease if the cause of their resentment is no more or if they have avenged themselves. But, it's crucial that Abimbola stops possessing someone first; that's the only way she can wake up," the baba added.
(AT AMINAT MANSION)
Bosco the gateman was sitting close to his lodge, about to take a bite of his bread and beans. When he suddenly saw a beautiful light-skinned lady walking by the gate.
He got struck by the lady beauty, and his eyes followed her as she walked. Bosco quickly put down his food aside, and rushed out of the gate to catch up with the beautiful lady.
"Hello, beautiful," Bosco said, trying to sound suave. "Where are you headed this hot afternoon?"
The lady turned to him, slightly startled. "Can you see me?" she asked with her eyes wide with surprise and uncertainty.
Bosco, with a charming smile began to sing, "I see you, oh, I can see you," while pointing to the lady in the short yellow dress. "Who wouldn't see a lovely and gorgeous lady like you?" he exclaimed. "Please come and eat with me in my little gateman mansion," Bosco urged, gesturing for her to come inside.
The lady walked in swaying her hips in a yellow dress that showed off her curves, and he couldn't take his eyes off her as she confidently entered the mansion.
Bosco grabbed the bread he was about to munch on before sighting the beautiful lady, then he turned to her with a grin on his face and asked "Are you a loaf of bread?”
The lady looked puzzled and asked Bosco, "Why would you think I'm a loaf of bread?"
“ That's because you are making my heart rise,” Bosco said and laughed really hard. "By the way, do you also enjoy eating beans? Because we could be a good match like bread and beans."
"Aww, that's really nice of you," the lady responded with a shy smile on her face. "I've never heard a pickup line like that before."
"Really," Bosco said. " Then just stay right here with me, and I will make sure you enjoy life to the fullest… Take a look at this whole mansion, I am the chief security officer in it. So tell me what else you want again besides this luxury that I haven't achieved already in life." Bosco said, looking confident and proud of his security job.
The lady giggled and said, "I don't need to look for luxury anywhere else. I've found my ultimate destination, and I want to treasure you as my only luxury." She said while turning to face Bosco and beaming brightly with laughter, expressing her feelings.
Bosco grinned and pointed at the lady, teasing her about her lines,
" OH, I see what you did right there with the word luxury.” Bosco said while grinning at the lady and teasing her about her lines. He immediately set his bread and beans aside to show that he is already content with his newfound love, and they continued to chat together until Gabriel arrived.
"You haven't touched your beans and bread since morning, Bosco. Gabriel inquired. “Are you sure you're not feeling unwell?" He asked further while taking a spoonful of Bosco's beans and a bite of his bread. Despite his mouthful, Gabriel managed to ask Bosco why he was chatting and talking to himself alone.
"Why do you mean I'm talking to myself and alone? Bosco quickly turned to Gabriel and asked. “Can't you see this fresh tomato in front of me?" He gestured with both hands towards where the beautiful lady was seated.
"Which tomato? There is no tomato here, not to mention pepper. Gabriel said while darting his eyes around. “Are you sure you're okay, Bosco?" He looked concerned as he questioned Bosco's statement.
"Eh, just say you are jealous, Gabriel, jealous because I caught a fine beautiful lady like this one," Bosco replied with a smirk on his face and continued. "Well, I didn't actually mean tomato, but this beautiful yellow-skinned lady standing right in front of me," Bosco confidently stated.
Gabriel immediately moved closer to Bosco, feeling his temperature, "I see you are running m*ad gradually. It's high time you visit a psychiatrist.”
"Well, since you're not interested in the remaining beans and bread," Gabriel continued, "I'll just help you finish them up." He said as he sat down and began to devour the food.
Bosco's eyes widened in shock as the realization hit him - he had been interacting with a ghost lady all along.
He considered shouting out, but the ghost lady silenced him instantly, warning him in a stern tone to keep quiet, "If you shout, just know that you are gone." She warns with a serious expression.
Bosco, already feeling scared and nervous, muttered “trouble” silently while fidgeting in fright in front of the Ghost lady.
"Better take your trouble elsewhere, take it out of Madam Aminat's house, okay? Gabriel, who is unaware of Bosco's situation , advised him after finishing the plate of beans and bread.
Bosco tried to signal Gabriel, but he didn't understand his situation. So he turned to ask him, "What's wrong with your eyes?" before leaving. He didn't understand that Bosco was signaling to him that a ghost is in front of him.
Tears began to well up in Bosco's eyes and he began to beg the ghost, "Please don't kill me." He continued, "We are not on the same level. I'm just a regular gateman; I can't afford a classy lady like you.”
The ghost, narrowing her eyes at Bosco, remarked, "Oh, so now you realize we're not in the same class?"
"I've been dead for the past three days, wandering aimlessly. The ghost revealed. “No one has noticed me except for you, my cute gateman." The ghost said and tried to touch Bosco's cheeks, but her hand passed through him like air, unable to make contact with the living.
Bosco, continuing to plead, said, "I am not that cute, there are guys out there who are the perfect match for you. I'm sure they will like you, and you both will be a perfect choice." He adjusted his teary face, trying to make the ghost lady go away.
The ghost lady replied, "No, what good will that be when they can no longer see me? I have reached my destination, and I'm not going anywhere. We will live together forever in your gateman house together."
Bosco attempted to plead further, but the Ghostlady shouted at him to be silent, and he quickly covered his mouth with his hands.
"Now listen to your first assignment carefully if you don't want me to harm you." The ghost lady said.
But before the ghost lady could speak, Bosco interrupted and pleaded, "I am not the one granting ghosts' requests. Just go inside and meet my madam," he said with a cracking voice. "My madam is the one granting ghost requests, but please don't let her know you are from me."
(AT OFFICER PAUL'S APARTMENT)
Officer Paul, deep in thought, sat quietly on his couch, staring at his phone with a mix of hesitation and concern. The thought of Loveth occupied his mind all day long. "Should I reach out to her or not?" he pondered, holding his phone tightly. "Or maybe I should just stay away after her clear warning the last time," he said to himself.
Paul thought back to their last encounter, recalling the bright and enthusiastic laughter on Loveth's face. "I could have sworn she was eager for me to ask her to be my girlfriend," he mused. "Why did she reject me then? Why did she make me fall in love with her when she knew she was going to reject my proposal after all?" Paul began to ponder.
He noticed that Loveth had been acting strangely recently, doing things and then seemingly forgetting about them. It was almost as if she was possessed by something.
Despite feeling the urge to call loveth, he hesitated and ended the call before it connected. "I'll just leave her be; she already warned me not to bother her," Paul thought, deciding to respect her boundaries.
Meanwhile, Loveth had left her house that same day too, missing Paul so much and wanting to check up on him. "I'm not sure how the last encounter went," Loveth thought deeply. "I'm certain he asked me out, but did I say yes? It's obviously not “yes” because he should have been calling me as his new girlfriend if it went well."
She continued to think deeply, "What was I doing at the bridge that same day too? Almost falling into the water," she continued to ponder deeply, feeling frustrated for forgetting things easily these days as she grabbed her wig in annoyance.
"I will just go and check up on him again," Loveth decided and began smoothing out her wig that she had roughed up earlier. She really cared about Paul and wanted to make sure everything was okay between them.
Loveth, unaware of the danger lurking around, approached Officer Paul's house, ready to knock on the door.
Little did she know that Abimbola's evil Ghost had spotted her and was plotting to possess her once more immediately she stepped inside.
"This time, I will finish you completely after possessing you," Abimbola's ghost thought with malicious intent.
Loveth, who is still unsure about seeing Paul, had second thoughts and chose to head back home without Knocking on the door anymore. "I do not know what happened the last time I visited," she thought. "I will just go back home and wait for him to call."
Little did Loveth realize that by going back, she had unknowingly saved herself from Abimbola's spirit that was waiting around Paul's apartment in annoyance for her to step in.
