My reverend's son 2

PART 2
"MY REVEREND'S SON"

Inspired by the HOLY ONE.

" The Queen herself, the  Most Beautiful, the one who makes the world know that I am very blessed. Olamide Aya Muyiwa Bada" My Father hailed my mother as she took her usual presidential catwalk down the Stairs of my parent's mansion...

" Aya ( Wife of )  Reverend Muyiwa Bada, point of correction" My mother answered placing the emphasis on the title 'Reverend'

I couldn't help but blush at the Love between my parents, though growing up, I was confused about the concept of love watching my parents. My Mother can be referred to as the Tiger of the Tribe of Bada. You try nonsense, You see nonsense. You give her small trouble you see plenty trouble. My father on the other hand can be called the Lamb of the Tribe of Bada.

Therefore, Growing up, I was confused with my Father's sermon of Submission. He would preach one thing in church and yet I was seeing something else at home...

" Wives, Submit to your husband in approach, in words, in decisions..."

However, what I saw at home was ..

" Muyiwa, you cannot tell me that! I am not some wife you will push around and tell where to sit  in this ministry or marriage. We built this life together, so equality is what reigns here, I am your partner not your subordinate."  My mother's usual statement.

My Father was the One to preach on Sunday...

" If you want your husband to love you, submit to Him"

Yet...

On Sunday evening, My father would still show my mother Undiluted love even after my mother has run him down with words like...

" Honestly Reverend, you are too soft on your workers, I hope las las ( eventually) you won't lose this ministry..."

Even as a lady, I knew my mother was quite overboard, well, that could be because I am the cool daughter of my mother. I am a female replica of my father.

At this point I want to believe you are wondering who is writing this chapter? Well, I am Moromade, the first daughter of Muyiwa and Olamide Bada.  The previous Chapter you read was written by Janet the Church Usher. As you journey with us in the story, you will meet a few others along the way.

So, Let's get back to the night of the Crossover.  As my Mother walked down the stairs, my father placed a peck on her hat. He dared not place it on her well baked face that was probably baked for two hours by her long standing Make up artist; Aunty Shanty.

My husband and two younger sisters were present as well, but my only brother was not  yet downstairs in the living room. I suspected he was trying to look his best just like my mother; his bestie.

However , I had travelled two hours with my husband to join them for the crossover, so I wasn't going to take it funny with My Mum's baby boy; Ademide ..

" Can Someone please tell Ademide, we are running late?" I shouted for him to hear...

" He can come in another car" My not-so nice immediate Younger Sister said. She was my mother's replica.

" This is Crossover, we all go in the same car" My Father said affirmatively...

" Ade Mii, Oko Mii" ( My Ade, My beloved) My Mother hailed her only son from downstairs. The expected reply was meant to be...

" Yes my Sugar Mama, Your boy is answering you"  That would have been Ademide's reply and with a Prince like appearance, he would have walked down the stairs planting a Kiss on my mother's hat, and a bow to my Father. To me a tight hug as his Favourite Sister, a firm handshake with my husband and a mere nod of head to my immediate younger sister and a Fashion show off to the third girl, but quite surprisingly that did not happen as it should have...

" Ademide!" My mother called again...

We all exchanged concerned looks.

" I will go check on him. It's possible he has his headphones on" As the first born, I had learnt quite early  to always douse any potential fire...

I went up the stairs and as always my husband was right behind me...

I opened Ademide's room and I met him all wrapped up or more like swaddled like a baby in a cot.

" Ademide! Ademide!" I Called...
