SLEEP WITH MY HUSBAND 

      ( The game 2) 

   Episode -14  ( finals)

I tensed up immediately I felt the cold steel at my back and began to slowly take a step forward till we got an old house, it was  very old and dilapidated you may think no one lives there . 

“Open the door ! “ the voice commands me again and I exhale deeply and opened the door but a hand pushed me inside and banged! the doors was shut closed against me. Darkness engulfed me and furrowed my brows in confusion, using  my phone light to look around for David, calling out his name with a loud voice. 

“David ! David ! Where are you ?”

Then  I heard a very weak low voice calling out to me from the corner so I immediately flew to his direction to see Dave tied to a chair bleeding profusely looking deathly pale and as white as paper ,  I felt my heart twist in deep pain to even think that he was in that  condition because of me, slowly he raised his brows and looked at me with fear in his eyes .

“Winnie. . .? What are you doing here? . He asked with so much difficulty and I rushed to him immediately with tears pouring from  my eyes as I began to untie his hands from the chair.

“Does it hurt badly? Can you even feel your leg?” I asked him in a low voice but he shook his head and spoke in a very tired anxious voice . “Winnie they planted a dangerous bomb inside this place and if you don’t leave now we both die”.

Hearing that my expression darkened with fury and I froze . . . “How can they do that ? Bomb? ,I don’t care about f**king bomb but you’re leaving this place this minute david” 

David chuckled weakly  . “How are you going do that ?”

Seeing him this way in pains , losing blood makes him more weak so I tighten my fist in anger . dialing a number i called Vicky immediately with my phone and she picked up in the first rang and her proud voice was heard. 

“Is too late to beg me if that’s why you’re calling, the bomb goes off any moment from now”. Hearing her lofty voice I let out a mockery laughter with my eyes on the bomb ticking very fast  , if my plans works out fine then David will be saved.

“Tsk”. . . Stop being delusional Vicky if you think I called to beg you . . .coward !!”.

David “. . .”Was rendered speechless and he widened his eyes in shock and  I definitely understand that look but I wasn’t even done.

“What the f**k did you call me ?”Vicky flagged up in anger from the phone while I also increased my voice with so much anger, liking the fact that I can ignite her anger.

“Vicky I thought there’s more to you but you were just a scary b*tch that has no human sympathy. You used an innocent guy to lure me here because obviously you couldn’t caught me , yes I give you but was shooting his legs wasn’t enough for you, yet you still want to kill him leaving the main people that hurt you and going after innocent once I see that as a cowardly act.”

Immediately I finished speaking she began to laugh hysterically for a while before she stopped and said leisurely.  “For someone who’s about to die you sure do talk a-lot,if others are in your position right now I think they will be begging for mercy but that’s not you Winnie even in death you still have your pride. . . 

“Anyway you have just twenty minutes more and if you can use it well then there’s an escape route at the end of that hall I doubt if you’ll even find it . . . “

“Then you don’t know me well enough.” 

I interrupted her instantly disconnecting the call , I  looked at the time bomb placed in the center of the room it ticked nineteen minutes left , without wasting much time I rushed to the end of the hall but everywhere was pitch dark using the touch light from my phone I began  checking every nook and crannies of the room until  I finally saw a black iron steel covering a hole slowly lifting it up with so much difficulty, once it was opened I rushed back to where Dave was groaning in pains , the problems is how to get him there , looking at the ticking bomb it was only ten minutes  left.

David watched in wonder the way Winnie was able to get the escape route from the  ladies instantly his respect for her increased times ten.

“Were you shot in the both leg or just one ?” I anxiously asked him to know how to carry him without him feeling so much pain.

“Just one leg two times”. he replied in a low voice staring at me suspiciously and I felt a bit relieved because that will be a bit better.

So I smiled warmly and squat down to his level . “David did you do frog jump with one leg in school? 

David “. . . “

“Stop looking at me like that there’s no much time , try leaning on me while walking with one leg huh! “Ignoring his questioning gaze , I dragged him up while helping him to balance his weight on his free leg and on my body too  I slowly dragged him towards the hole, trying my best to fight the tears that threatened to fall from my eyes but it won’t stop pouring. Then I heard his stubborn voice.

“Winnie were you taking me to? I told you I’m not leaving this place without you . . .we leave this place together or we die together . . . Please don’t make me leave you here “.

I ignored him words and keep walking towards the hole with so much difficulty until we got there. 

“If you trying to get me leave this place alone then think twice I’m not going anywhere without you. “ He shook his head slowly tears pouring out of his eyes and my heart twisted in deep pain , i don’t also want to die alright? Is not like I’ve a choice, so I frowned my face and looked at him with cold gaze. 

“See Dave I’m not doing this because l like you , I just don’t like owing anyone a debt so I’m just paying you back for everything you’ve done for me and I can’t let you die for me you know why? because we are strangers who doesn’t know each other so why should I allow you to die for me?. . . 

I can’t answer Mother Nature that, so shut the f**k up and get down this hole there’s no time.” I finished speaking in a very cold detached voice.

 I watch his expression  changed slightly and he was staring at me his eyes full of pain and  I had to looked away from his heartbroken expression pinching myself very hard to stop myself from crying or show any emotions.

“You’re lying Winnie ! You just saying this to make me feel bad , who comes to their death for a stranger? There’s no way I’m leaving without you!!”

I turned back and watch the bomb ticked  two minutes left; Raising my hands with full force i landed a heavy slap on his cheek not minding the fact that I’m slapping a full grown man while he widened his eyes in surprised. Shaking his slightly to wake up.

“ Look at me!!  You’re leaving this place this minute and that’s final. Now now get down, I will come after you “ 

“But !!! 

I glared at him to shut him up , and slowly David lowered himself down and leaves the place in time for the bomb  to tick 0:00 

And I closed my eyes to take what awaits me.

“It’s almost time , lady boss do you think one of them will be out?” Vera asked Vicky from the distance where they were watching the building,  waiting patiently for the bomb to go off.

Vicky leaning on her car took a drew from her blunts, her expression unreadable as she keeps thinking about Winnie ‘s last words. The real people that wronged her. .  . Who are those people?

She was about answering when a car drove towards them and packed, Richard came out of the car and Vicky froze.

Richard walked towards them his facial expression full of confusion.

“Richard? What are you doing here?”She asked him in shocked.

Hearing her questions Richard frowned his face slightly. “ How can you ask me that when you’re the one who sent me an anxious message asking me to meet you here?”

“I never sent you any message.”Vicky replied slowly while remembering Winnie’s last words to her again she crushed her blunt in anger and suddenly said.

“We’ve been set up by some people, girls let’s leave this place this minute.” She said and was about entering her car while Richard stopped her. “What’s going on? Who set us up and why?”

“Richard enough of all these questions I’ll explain. .  .”

Help !!!  Someone help me!!!! 

Someone please help me!!! 

A loud deep voice was heard from the distance coming from the building stopping Vicky from speaking any further. Richard looked more confused and was about asking what’s going on when they all heard it . . . 

A very loud sound clearly loud enough to burst  someone’s eardrum… even from the distance they all felt the impart as there were all thrown away  David wasn’t an exemption since he was closer to the building, the blast from the bomb threw him fifteen miles away from the building making him to black out even the ground trembled heavily feeling the impact of the bomb and suddenly the building came crashing down in fire.

“What happened? Is that a bomb? Vicky talk to me what the h*ll happened here?”

Richard began to yell  but Vicky ignored him and stood up immediately to run her car in time for the cops to arrive at the venue. They heard the loud sound too because they were close by already and from their reliable source of information some group of ladies and a guy set a building on fire with a lady inside the building.

“Hey! Every body freeze!!! If you move I shoot !!! 

The cops all raised their guns at Vicky , her girls and Richard. Vicky being the smart girl brought her pistol and opened fire on the cops soon bullet began to fly everywhere as they engaged in a combat with the cops Richard lied down on the floor and his soul nearly left him .

Finally the cops gunned down two of their girls and arrested two along Vera and Richard while Vicky escaped with injuries on her arms.

“Sir we found a body and he’s alive!. . . We need medicals “. of the police men shouted and some first aid was brought to administer to David before he opened his eyes and suddenly he began to scream  with tears trying to stand up but he was held down. “Someone Is inside the building , officers please save Winnie . . . She’s still inside there “.

“Please calm down you’re injured , anyone  inside this building is already gone because the building itself is been brought down with fire.” One of the female officer said with a sad expression on her face.

Hearing that David went still with shock , he can’t believe it . . . Remembering the first time he saw Winnie full of life and always smiling, he began to scream again like a mad man not minding he’s injury .

“Noooooo !!! Winnie’s not dead!! Don’t tell me she’s dead !!! The boss !! Yes the boss will save her. !! Winnie you said you’ll come out after me !!! “. The nurse had to inject him with sleeping medicine to knock him out.

Richard heard it and blinked his eyes again and again in shock . Which Winnie is that guy screaming about ? Wait Winnie !!!  

Dead!! . . . Then the realization of why Vicky wanted escape hits him hard and he felt his heart stopped beating for a moment.

Suddenly the police went round to gather evidence and people living around began to gather, taking videos , taking pictures posting it on all social media platforms news were flying everywhere. . . Different people adding salt and flavor to their own story but the conclusion is Winnie Is gone!.

 (Bonus chapter)

Desmond was lying down on the floor in a hotel, his room was messed up with cigars and alcohol. . . That what he’s life has been like  since the day Winnie blocked him. He now looks like a shadow of himself as he kept blaming himself for everything shutting everyone out and indulging himself with highness to feel a bit happier.

Rings ! Rings! Rings! 

His phone kept ringing by his side and he sluggishly picked it up seeing it was from his junior brother.

“Brother Desmond where are you?”   Comes his brother’s anxious voice.

Hearing the anxiety in his brother’s voice Desmond furrows his brows slightly and asked. “Any problem?”

“Brother you haven’t heard ? Aunty Winnie! She’s dead!!!”.

Desmond froze and slowly stood up from the bed.

“Which Winnie are you talking about ?”He asked in a very low voice his hands suddenly trembling.

“Aunty Winnie your fiancé! Is all over the internet , check your phone,some groups of girls set a building on fire while she was still inside. . .

Desmond heart went cold and he wasn’t hearing any words from his brother again as his phone slightly dropped from his hands .The room  started spinning round and round , the only word he could hear was Winnie’s dead ? How come ? Suddenly he began to feel very dizzy and ding!  a notification entered his phone and checking it he saw the news boldly written.

“A 27YEARS OLD LADY IDENTIFIED TO BE “WINIFRED SAMUEL “SET ABLAZE BY SOME GROUP OF YOUTHS.

With Winnie’s profile picture where was she. smiling brightly. Desmond collapsed.

The whole internet was on fire , in-fact the whole world was on fire, everyone with their own side of the story of how she died with chioma and Amaka crying their heart out in the public professing love and deep for their best friend who they killed, the news got to Winnie’s family and her mother collapsed,who wouldn’t when they just lost their only child?

“Mr Kelvin we’ve arrived at the states , can you now stop sleeping ?”

The white man asked Kelvin . He has been trying to engage him in a conversation all through the eight hours flight yet Kelvin didn’t say a words to him, just covering his face with a face mask and putting on a dark shade with a cowboy hat, who dressed like that to go for business trip?

“Oh we’re here?” The man presumed to be Kelvin finally stretched and began to remove all of his disguise.

He removed his hat, dark shade and face mask, his business associates were extremely shocked to see a very different person on the plane with them but they definitely saw Kelvin this morning boarding the plane with them so how come is now a different person?

Seeing their dumbfounded expression the strange man laughed and answered their unasked questions . “Fellas. . . Kelvin never boarded the plane in the first place he just came in to show me my first class seat, he promised me a free first class seat to the states  for a vacation.”

The three of them “. . .”

“Hehehehehe. . . The man chuckled deeply and stood up to leave but he paused and turned to look at them “ Kelvin asked me to drop a message for you guys, he said that he has an important work to do that’s something like saving the stubborn queen?. . . Anyway that’s the message. Thanks guys for a wonderful ride “.

He turned to leave .

Seeing the news on the internet the boss chuckled deeply .

“Winnie you always make a h*ll of  an entrance even entering the land of the dead”.
