Episode 12

âĄ**âĄ**âĄ**âĄ*
By the time the video ended, I was in a terr!fying shock. What I saw in the video has left me speechless and with a nauseous feeling.
Right now, I didnât even know what to say or how to start.. how to start asking the f@ke guy over there what he poured into my glass of wine and why he did it.
He was right.. Eric Wilfred was right. This isnât a dream, he was right that Iâm about to fall into a blackma!l.
âHow did he know so much?â
He saved me. I could have taken that wine already if not for him.
The f00l had taken out the small white powdery subst@nce from his pocket seconds after I left to the bathroom, emptied it all into my wine and put the nylon back into his pocket.
I needed no one to tell me that it was a h@rd dr*g, and now he must be waiting impatiently for me to gulp it down my system and sleep off in few minutes time, so he could str!p me nakÂŁd and take photos of me.
Son of a b!tch!
Lora!
How could Lora do this to me?
âThey say reading over a glass of wine is the best feeling ever,â he said.
âWine? Oh the one you are desperate for me to drink right?â
âYou shouldnât stand there to read, get over here, the wineâs wasting,â he said.
âOfcourse it will, you bast@rd. Maybe I should enjoy a little play firstâ
âI know right?â I said, turned my head towards him and gave him a smile.
âRight. We should read together,â he smiled back.
âAww⌠Mr. romantic, you must think Iâm a f00lâ
I dropped the phone on the table, grabbed a wine glass from the mini-kitchen and walked back to the seat.
Iâve seen what I needed to see.
âWhy another glass cup?â he asked on seeing the wine glass.
I smiled, âI.. just feel like drinking from another cup.â
âWhy?â he asked.
âWell..â I crossed my legs, dropped the glass cup on the table, took the bottle of wine and poured into the glass cup, ââŚbecause Iâve done that before and it felt awesome.â
âReally..â he said f@king a smile while I could detect anger mixed with worry on his face.
âYeahh.. you can try it too,â I said and took a sip.
âMm interesting. I really want to try it too, but why donât you finish the wine in the first cup first, then you can move to that one.â he said, then chuckled, ââŚRemember our parents doesnât want us wasting foods and drinks.â
I smiled, âOh you $ly, you really think Iâll take that dĹĂšgged wine? No, Iâm about to kick your a$s insteadâ
âNah.. itâs more interesting when you have a left over wine in another cup while you sip from another. The sight⌠is one in a mill!on. Weâll apologise to our parents later. Come on, join me,â I said and sipped my wine with my eyes on him.
I need him to react, to ponder on my sudden action, to wonder why I donât want to take that glass of wine anymore. I want to see him try to make me have the wine.
âCome on, I know youâre joking. Donât waste that wine.. I donât like drinks being wasted especially my favourite wine,â he said.
Okay, now heâs starting to try.
I shrugged, âIf you donât want the wine wasted, then you can have it.â
He raised his brows at me. Clearly he didnât expect me to say that, and he looked quite shocked.
Then he chuckled and asked, âSeriously?â
âYeah..â
I was starting to get impatient, but I tried my best to stay calm and see where this conversation will reach.
But for minutes, the questions and answers kept rotating and rotating without going to another direction and my patience was only three percent left.
I was ready to stop the boring play and was about shove the video to his face, when he finally dropped a reasonable question.
âWait a second⌠is this what Iâm thinking?â
âWhat are you thinking?â I asked him.
It took him seconds before he asked.
âThat you donât trust me?â
I smiled and relaxed more on the sofa.
âNow itâs getting more interestingâ
âWhy do you think I donât?â I asked.
âYou think I did something to your drink?â he asked, sounding shocked.
I chuckled, âWhy would I think that, is there a reason for me to think that?â
âYou should answer that question because itâs obvious youâre lying about enjoying a new glass of wine while you have another still half filled, who does that?â he said.
âOops.. Iâve never been a good actor. He caught me, but nothing spoiled.â
âI think I made a mistake. The question should be, Is there a reason for you to do something to my wine?â I asked him.
He scoffed, âAre you serious right now Desire? Why would I do that? Like why?â
Really?
I shrugged, âMaybe Remi didnât, but Frank did.â
The shock on his face immediately I mentioned his real name should be on the Guinness Book of Records, because Iâve never seen a shocked face trying to pretend not to be shocked like his before.
âWhat.. are you talking about?â he asked.
âOh give up with the f@ke ID, Frank Okoye,â I said.
âSh!t!â he cursâŹd under his breath.
I chuckled and dropped my glass of wine.
âWhatâs the substance you emptied into my glass of wine?â I asked him.
His mouth was agape for more than a minute, then he dropped his glass of wine and chuckled, âBravo. It seems youâre smarter than I thought.â
I smiled, âYeah.. I beat you to it, so go on, tell me⌠what did you empty inside my glass of wine and for what reason?â
He shrugged, âJust something you needed to take to make you feel good. Now that youâve mentioned it, itâs not h@rmful at all, just go on and try it.â
I uncrossed my legs and bursted into laughter.
âSo you..can make use of your camera right?â I asked inbetween laughter.
He adjusted on the seat.
Now heâs starting to understand how much I know.
âSince you know even my surname, you must know the rest.. so I wanna know, how did you find out because this plan was perfect?â he asked.
âWhich one do you wish to know first, how I found out that youâre Frank Okoye or how I found out that you dr*gged my wine?â I asked him.
âLetâs start with the first,â he said and crossed his legs. Now relaxed and the shock gone off his face, surprisingly.
Tsk! Really?!
âVery well then,â I said, grabbed my second glass of wine and emptied it on his face.
He chuckled, took out a handkerchief from his pocket and cleaned his face.
âThat wasnât necessary,â he said.
It made me feel good.
âLast night, I was sleeping, then I had a dream..â I began, ââŚin that dream, God Almighty revealed to me who you really are. He said, Oh My Daughter, there is a boy who you must know who he truly is. His name is not Remi but Frank Okoye and he is a cousin to the lady who you thought is your friend, her name is Lora Okoye.â
I grabbed the dr*gged glass of wine, emptied it again on him and stood up from the chair.
âF**k!â he cursÂŁd.
I continued, â.. And He spoke to me again and said, Today, Frank Okoye will come to dr*g you with a fine wine and a flower, so he can take what he needs to blackma!l you in the nearest future.â
He chuckled while cleaning himself, âThen you should be a pr0phetess and make m0ney from your church, instead of sleeping with a married man.â
I smiled, âIâve never slÂŁpt with a married man and Iâll never do that.â
âOh come on Desire, we both know who you gr@ced his bed last night,â he said.
I bursted into laughter, âOfcourse you and your partner in cr!me have no choice but to believe whatever I say. â
He raised his brows, âWhat do you mean?â
âYouâre not that d@ft Frank,â I said, walked to the iphone, grabbed it, returned and played the video for him.
He watched it and realizing what it is, he took his eyes away.
âHmm Bravo, smart girl,â he smiled.
âNow, itâs my turn to ask questions, what did you plan to do to me when your dr*g start working on me?â I asked him.
âDidnât GĂłd Almighty reveal it to you as well?â he asked.
I smiled, âWell, I donât think I care to know what I know already.â
âGreat. You won, can I take my leave now?â he asked.
âCall your acc0mpl!ce,â I said.
He chuckled, âDonât worry. Iâll tell her myself.â
âIf you d0nât want to hear that your cousin is d**d, call her,â I said.
He scoffed, âIs that a th*at??â
âI know Lora had betr@yed me, br0ke my trust for her and ÂŁnded our friendship, but I have to tell her the d*ng*r that weâre both in.
âC@ll her now!â I half y*lled at him.
âOkay, fine.. I will,â he said, picked his phone and put a call to her.
âL0ud speaker,â I said and he did.
After few rings, she picked.
âWhatsup guy, why the call?â her curious voice came in.
âBabe, things don c@st o,â he said.
âWhat do you mean?â she asked.
I decided to come in.
âGood job Lora.. Your plan could h@ve worked,â I said.
She went mĂšte, obviously from the shock.
âI donât know how she found out, but she knows every d*mn thing,â he said to her.
âOh sh!tâŚoh sh!t,â I heard her c*rse under her breath seconds later.
âLora, If you needed the m0ney so much, why didnât you take the j0b? Why didnât y0u at least try again, after fa!ling to get h!m on your bÂŁd the first time?â I asked her.
âHh..how di..did you know?â she stuttered.
I chuckled, âNothing is h!dden under the sun Lora.â
âHe told you, didnât he? Why will he tell you? How did he even know that we know each other?â she asked.
âLora I donât th!nk I 0we you an answer to those questions, and I have nothing much to say, but that Iâm so d!sappointed in you. I trusted you and took your advice as a friend, not knowing that you are a w0lf in sheep cl0thing and you only conv!nced me to come here for your own gr*ediness. But Iâm grateful to Gòd for coming through for me through the last person I expected to. Unfortunately for you, that m0ney will never get into your hands, not even a one percent of it, you know why..â I smiled, ââŚbecause thereâll be no such m0ney.â
âFrank! You told her!â she screamed at him.
âI said I donât f**king know how she did! She said Gòd revealed it to her in a dream,â he said.
âOkay, Desire⌠I wasnât planing to h@rm you in anyway, I just wanted to take what rightfully belongs to me,â she said.
âAnd how does it rightfully belong to you? The last time I checked, the m0ney should be mine,â I said.
âNo Desire, itâs mine. I was supposed to do the job, but since Iâve fa!led before, I had no choice than to send you. Now youâve succeeded and you think youâre smarter than evryone else.. youâre really 0ut of your m!nd,â she scoffed.
âShe havenât slÂŁpt with him,â Frank said.
âShut up you dĂš|l brain!â She yÂŁlled at him.. â..you couldnât do a simple job but you want mill!ons in your account.â
I chuckled, âWhile you sit there, thinking Iâve slÂŁpt with a married man and planning on how to ext0rt the m0ney from me, I hope youâre also planning on how to save yourself from getting k!lled?â
âWhat are you talking about?â she asked.
I smiled, âYour cl!ent who brought the job for you has paid for you and I to be k!lled,â
âWho are you talking about?â she asked curiously.
âYou can ask G00gle and while doing that, prepare to hear from the pol!ce.â
âWhat.. pol!ce?â she asked.
âWhy pol!ce?â Frank asked.
I turned to him.
âFor trying to dr*g me. I have the ev!dence,â I said and raised my phone to his face.
