While in the conference, I dedicated the program to praying for my husband. He must be delivered in Jesus name!!
In the program, I was mummy GOâs errand girl. Even in the middle of praise and worship, intensive prayer session and sermon, sheâd tap me to either go and buy something for her, take her call, go and bring something she forgot from her room or carry her bag.
âI see you have a PA now maâamâ one of the pastors wives that came from the east asked her.
âNo⌠Sheâs just a humble daughter of Zion who God called into ministryâ mummy answered.
âI see⌠Sheâs hard workingâ the woman said
âYes she is. And I am standing in the gap praying for her. She will be exalted beyond her expectationsâ
âAmen. Child of God let me pray with youâ the pastorâs wife said. We held hand and she prayed for a while.
Sometimes, the voice of the flesh in me will begin to question why Iâd come all the way from Lagos just to run errands for my fellow woman. Someone I am way more educated than. Sometimes, I miss out of prayer sessions, praise and worship and even on the word where i was running up and down for her.
But the spirit of God in me will always shut the voice of the flesh up. Reminding me that the ways of God are not the ways of man. Before you become a leader you must serve. Believe in the lord your God, so you shall be established; believe in his prophets so you shall prosper. 2chronicles 20:20. I was sure that mummy GO is doing even much more for me spiritually. I encouraged myself never to doubt her but to do as she and Daddy GO says so that my spiritual growth and blessings will be permanent.
In all that 6days we spent in Abuja, Bidemi didnât call me and I had no time to even call him.
I didnât get a word from anyone from home. But, I was sure they are fine. Afterall, Iâm praying for them.
Eka was doing really well. I loved how neat the entire house was and how healthy and happy Anu looked. But Eka is a staunch sinner, how can she be this attentive, sensitive and dedicated, I thought.
Eka served me one of her delicacies and I could hardly believed it was cooked by a human. God, no wonder Bidemi didnât even border to give me a beep. I thanked Eka and prayed for her.
I wanted to do a simple prayer for Eka for the forgiveness of her many sins, when the holy spirit overtook me and I fell under the anointing. I started prophesying and blasting in tongues, I didnât know I had taking hours already, until Bidemi walked in.
âWhat sort of madness is going on here?â He thundered.
âGood evening Bidemiâ I greeted.
âEhenâŚ. So is hugging your husband after not seeing him for a long time also a sin?â He asked spreading his arms in the air for me.
âNo, itâs not. But you saw I was praying for Eka right? Must you interrupt us?â
âEka, go to your room. But let me warn you, any day I see you leave your work for stupid prayers I will sack you⌠Do you understand?â Eka nodded and hurried out.
âWhat is the meaning of that?â
âWeâve been happy and in peace, weâve enjoyed some fresh air and quietness around here. Please can you no ruin it for us?â
âWhat did you just say Bidemi? So you mean I am the negative air around this house?â He ignored me and went to drop his bag.
âBidemi, I thought I said enough prayers for the evil spirits in you to leave you alone. But seems like they have infiltrated your blood. You need the blood of Jesus to be freeâ I began to plead the blood of Jesus on his behalf while following him around.
He took a quick shower and before he was out, Eka had set the table for three. Bidemi, herself and Anu. I didnât even know that Eka eats on same table with my husband at the same time.
âEka, how dare you sit on same table with my husband to eat as if youâre his wifeâ I thundered angrily.
âSorry madamâ she said as she began to pack up her plates
âEka, sit down, eat your food and feed Anuâ
I was shocked. Meanwhile, Eka was hanging on the air as she shifts gaze between I and Bidemi, fear written all over her
âSit down and feed my daughter, I said!â Bidemi screamed loudly for the first time since I had married him.
Eka sat down and shifted Anuâs sit close her. As she makes to feed my daughter with the first ball of eba I rushed her and held her hand from entering Anuâs mouth.
âYou canât feed my daughter this nonsense. She doesnât like swallow, what happens to tea, cereals, plantain and Amala? Those are her preferences. She doesnât like these thingsâ
âWell, she now doesâ Bidemi answered spitefully.
âMummy I like Anty Eka soup and eba and pounded yam, and fufu andâŚâ
âShut up!â I screamed at my daughter and stormed out.
I began to ask God what was going on in prayer.
God I canât be serving you every single moment and you let my home fall apart. No! I began to pray.
After prayer, I took my bath and decided to go to the backyard where we have our garden to catch fresh air and clear my head.
As I walked through the parlor and kitchen, I noticed so many changes. So many new thing had been bought. The house had been rearranged our TV and woofer set had even been changed to a much bigger and finer ones.
Approaching the garden I heard laughter. I got close and found out that it was Eka, Bidemi and Anu. Eka was telling them an ancient story. She asked them to be responding with some funny ibibio language word while she sang and told the story. They were having a swell time no doubt.
I havenât seen Bidemi this happy in a long time and laughing so broadly. Anu too seemed happy. I felt betrayed, I felt left out. I took my sit and listened to them for a while. Sadly, they acted as if they didnât see me come in, even Anu didnât flinch. That hurt me so much.
âEhâŚ. This is pass 8 are you not going to put Anu to bed?â I asked Eka. Not because it was time to put her to bed but because I was jealous.
âMadam tomorrow is Saturday so she stays as long as she wants and plays with Daddyâ
âHow dare you? Is she your daughter, is he your husband, why then are you so concerned. acting all wife materially, what are you trying to prove?â I shouted angrily.
âIâm sorry madam. I donât mean to upset you. Daddyâs girl, come letâs go to bed now, itâs lateâ they stood up.
âPrincess come and give daddy a good night kissâ Anu ran to her Dad and kissed him goodnight.
âGood night Ekaâ Bidemi said to Eka.
âGood night sir. Good night maâamâ she responded, slightly bowing when she spoke to me.
âDonât forget to tell Anu her bed time storiesâ Bidemi shouted.
âSure sirâ Ekaâs voice came faintly from afar.
âDonât tell my daughter those scary nonsense stories from that slum you came from and donât ever wears this nonsense youâre wearing again in my houseâ I screamed at the direction she went.
âI didnât know that repented children of God have their tongues coated with insults and their minds, shallow, insecured, and irresponsibleâ Bidemi said looking straight into my eyes
I was shocked. Bidemi, nomatter what I do, takes it lying down. He is a very calm man that hardly talks. You canât catch Bidemi insulting, shouting or quarrelling with anyone, especially those around him. So, I was shocked that he even knows how to put insults together in one sentence.
âAnd I already know that worldly husbands are very insensitive and preoccupied with nonsense. I donât want her wearing that thing in my house againâ
âYouâre in the wrong address then because the last time I checked, the church was your house. And are you expecting her to tie double wrapper and wear outdated august meeting kind of blouse like you to sleep?â
I looked away.
What she wore wasnât so bad. But the material was light and my bible is against it. Clothes that have silk, cashmere and cotton at the same time.
âSo you have these feelings still, yet you starve me sex, your presence and everything else and you still had to ruin my good times too? Jeez, youâre terrible at this repentant thing. Quit deceiving yourselfâ he stood to left.
âCome back here Bidemi. Youâre beginning to act like the devil who have possessed you for a very long timeâ
âWell, maybe thatâs why I can see that youâre wrinkling, ageing and diminishing because of lack of care. You look 70 and if I didnât know you before now, Iâd think youâre my grandmaâs age mate. Go get a life mamaâ he walked away.
I didnât know that my husband could talk that much.
He is a man who had never had bad words for anybody nomatter how hard you push him. Is it that Iâve pushed him too hard or that Eka has corrupted him or what?
I sat on the floor and cried my eyes out. Lord you said youâd give me strength to bear this persecutions and win at the end. I think this one is greater than me oooo⌠I wept.
In the morning; I dressed up and went to see my mummy and Daddy.
After narrating everything thatâs happening in my home from day one, they went into serious prayers and blasting in tongues with me. After the prayers, Daddy saw the vision of what was wrong with my marriage.
âThat your maid is a queen in river Niger. She wants to take your husband away from youâ Daddy declared. I shouted. Ahhh⌠Worldly people are very wicked. How could Eka and Bidemi do this to me
âDaddy please help me. Please donât let this happenâ I begged my Daddy and Mummy in the lord
âSomebody say ayayahhâ Daddy said his eyes closed in prayers.
âAyayahh!â Mummy and I thundered.
âSomebody say⌠Daddy!!!â He said again.
âDaddy!!â We responded.
âSomebody say prrroooophhhesssyyyyy!â
âPrrroooophhhesssyyyyy!!â We shouted
Then he began to prophesy about Eka. He also sent fire to Eka and her kingdom.
Iâm used to that praying pattern. That is how my daddy prays when he is in a âholy angerâ mood.
So I was sure that Eka will be shouting fire!! Fire!!! Wherever she may be.
âSay my father my father!â
We repeated.
âAs I begin to pray⌠Let the fire of a fire setter be quenched in Jesus nameâ
We repeated and began to pray.
Somebody shooouuuuutt faaaaaayyyyaaaaaâ
âFaaaaaayyyyaaaaa!!â
âAs we were praying, I saw your husband fetching water from the hill and emptying itâs bucket on your maid⌠Ahhhhh⌠ZeleyababadagrabadaâŚ. Ahhhh shhhhsshhh⌠This means that, he will empty his blessings on that maid. He will give her all his moneyâŚ. Yes sir⌠Yes papa⌠Ragadasalamamamash⌠Ahhh⌠Srubimkrubintabintatata⌠Tatianamatamabinta⌠The lord is also showing me in the spirit that your husband will buy you a bread. That bread is a bread of sorrow. Donât eat it. He and your maid has planned evil against you. They may kill you if youâre not carefulâ
Ahhh⌠I put my hand on my head.
Are candidates of hell are very wicked. How could they plan such evil against me?. So if my Daddy in the lord did not reveal it now this is how I would have died? No wonder the bible said that the secrete things of the lord are for those who fear him and he will show them his covenant in psalm 25:14.
Daddy hears directly from God. That is why he is nicknamed, âGodâs right hand manâ
âHow much is the maids salary?â Daddy asked.
âItâs 60 thousand naira papaâ I responded amidst tears.
Daddy chuckled.
âHe pays her 120 thousand naira. They have both been lying to youâ
I couldnât believe it.
If not that it came directly from Daddy, I would have doubted it. Bidemi, lie to me? Kâosele ri.
I was very grateful to them. Tell me what I could do without my daddy in the lord.
âWhy are you lying Bidemi. You think I donât know that youâre paying her 120k and for doing what exactly?â
âI donât know where you got that from. But youâre wrongâ he said defensively
âI got it from the holy spirit. The one who sees all hearts, the one who knows every secret activities of men. He revealed it to my Daddyâ
âWell that your daddy and his holy spirit are drunk, maybe they gave you some too to drink to think that I lied to you on something as trivialâ
âMaybe itâs not trivial. Maybe thereâs something more with this Ekaete girl that youâre not telling meâ
âYes, thereâs something about her, that youâre too busy and sentimentally drawn to notice and that is the way she cares for Anu as if she were her own and the way she respects us. Something you clearly cannot doâ
âAre you sleeping with Eka? Are you planning to give her all your resources and gift me a bread of sorrow?â I didnât want him to know I already knew their plans. But, I let my emotion get the best out of me.
He laughed.
âDid the holy spirit also reveal this to you?â
âDonât make mockery of the spirit of the living Godâ
He kept laughing as he opened the door to leave for work.
âI am sending Eka homeâ
âDo it, and see the beast in meâ he shut the door at my face.
I was confused. But that single answer he gave me confirmed what daddy said. So itâs true but then, I know my husband. He isnât a man of many words and most definitely not one to make empty threats.
What do you advice me to do?
