Chapter 4
"Oh come on, Gina. Not everything is resolved by divorce". My friend Gina was a divorcee. She divorced her husband when he mercilessly beat her up.
"I can't be with a man who can lay a hand on me. Never" she said when she told me about her plans to divorce. I tried to talk her out of it because it was Alfred's first time of being violent with her. "Ei Cynthia, today it's just slaps. The next time he'll use his legs and the next will ~be an iron or something worse. I won't wait to die oo, boi3." I understood her but Alfred was so remorseful and I felt sorry for him. ~But then he brought it upon himself.
So sh~ e suggesting divorce as my solution was to be expected. ~But I'm different from her. I believe everything can be solved by talking so I firmly refused and asked her not to mention divorce to me again. "Okay oo, Mrs" she said while she raised her hands in submission to my request. I was able to borrow money from her and promised to pay her back but then as usual, she said she wouldn't take it.
I went to my shop and started working right away. I wanted to finish as many dresses as possible so I could call the owners to come for it. While busily working, someone walked in and greeted. I responded before raising my head to meet the greatest shock of my life. "Samuel!" "Cynthia!". We both said simultaneously as confusion was registered on both our faces
